Pro Bono Law Alberta Launch to the Profession

Pro Bono Law Alberta was launched to Alberta's legal profession as the legacy project celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Law Society of Alberta in events held in Calgary and Edmonton on May 23 and 24, 2007.

Jim Peacock, QC, President of the Law Society of Alberta, announced the $200,000 contribution made by the Law Society to set up and implement the legacy project. The Minister of Justice and Attorney General, the Honourable Ron Stevens, QC commended the Law Society of Alberta for its vision in providing access to justice for low income Albertans.

The Alberta Law Foundation has provided a grant of $200,000 for the establishment of Pro Bono Law Alberta.
